smtp with resources caused user cannot send mail!

Hi,

we need help urgently.

we set the rules as below to solve notes and exchange mail time-out issue:

any->mail server-> smtp with resource(point to mail svr'sip)

but this rule not allow user to send email out.

Any solution? Pls help.

is the user on the other side of the firewall from the mail server? if not the problem is probibly mail not getting out from the mail server? you need a rule
mailserver - any - smtp with resource.

or is the problem from the notes client communicating with the mail server?

if the problem is between your client and server (via firewall) look at the firewall logs and see what trafic is moving and see if it is blocked or if the rule is missed (there was a problem with using resources on mail where it skipped the rule this required a patch from checpoint)

Hi Piloria,

we just changed the rule:

specified mail svr ->int.mail svr->smtp with resource.

Because only specified mail svr had problem send to our int. mail. svr

It was working fine and after 40 email. problem came back.

is there any information in the logs?
what version of fw1 are you using and on what playform?

CP NG with SP3.

Are you using any filters {*.exe} etc...? If you are with Hotfix 1 this will break mail dequing. Call support for patch.

Check logs for mail queue & mail dequeu; check $FWDIR/spool for non-delivered mail.

Check your recipient domain, it should be:
Sender: *@*
Recipient: *@{yourdomain1, yourdomain2}.com
