SMTP Voicemail to Email not working

Have and IPO R9.0 (build 829) Essential Edition with Embedded Voicemail.
I have set up the the SMTP fields with the IP address for the SMTP server (also tried the FQDN).
I have tried it with Server Authentication and without.
Nothing seems to work.

I have verified that I can ping to the SMTP server.
I have tested connection to the SMTP server with a SMTP Diag Tool on the same segemnt that the IPO is on and it was succesful.

There is no error information in the Monitor logs but I am including them.
Has anyone else had any issues with SMTP on IPO R9??

64.8.71.112 ....if it's an external email server most require encryption which the system can't do :)

 
There may not be an "error" message, but I'm not seeing the "msgsent" line which indicates the message was successfully sent. What is 64.8.71.112? an Exchange server or an ISP's mail server?

64.8.71.112 is an external address for a local ISP SMTP server.
They do not use encryption.

There is something going on with the particular ISP SMTP connection that I haven't figured out yet.
I tested to another (private) SMTP server and it worked just fine.

I will investigate further and post my findings.

 
We use hosted Exchange. Our VM to email quit working after the 9.0 upgrade. The IPO chassis still emails me alerts, but the VM/Apps server stopped working.

I'll be interested in what you find out.
 
I work with Phoneguy15 and what we ended up doing was creating a SMTP server on our local VMPro machine. We pointed the customer settings to our external address associated with that machine and relayed it to our ISP's SMTP. For some reason we could not have the IPO point directly to our ISP's SMTP or to GMX's SMTP.
 
It's possible to connect, but it needs to support Relay.
