SMTP Setting work on Ricoh Copiers but not Kinolta Minolta Copiers.

So after the Rackspace debacle I had to change email providers to Intermedia and subsequently change all the smtp settings on my copiers. All of my Ricoh copiers work fine with the new SMTP settings, but the Kinolta Minoltas do not and I have to keep an email address live on the Rackspace platform just to send email on those devices. I don't know why one brand would work and the other not if the ip's and smtp settings are the same. I was thinking maybe TLS, but that's networking. Anyone got any ideas?
