I have a dedicated server with a hosting company. For a while now my Inetpub/mailroot/queue folder has been filling up daily with thousands upon thousands of .EML files (email messages). They are not being generated from my website.

I've opened the email files up and they contain garbage text.. I can only assume some outside party is using my server and SMTP to attempt to send spam, or maybe they're just attacking my site.

Is there a way I can block SMTP server from all outside interference?

It's really becoming a pain because my hard disk fills up with all these emails and I daily have to delete them otherwise my hard disk fills up completely.
