We experiencing an extrememly puzzling problem and I hope someone may be able to shed some light as to what is happening.

We have a mailbox (Global Support) which has a number of email addresses tied to it e.g. europe@domain.com, asia@domain.com etc. All of these email addresses are tied to this mailbox so when someone emails any of these addresses their mails all arrive in the same mailbox. In Exchange 5.5 we have a Delivery Options setting to send all mails to an alternative recipient (a 3rd party domain - effectively an Oracle email/Database application support@ref.customer.com)

Now everything works fine for most of our customers i.e. they email europe@domain.com and we receive their email in the Global Support mailbox and also receive their email in the 3rd party Oracle email system, but a handful of customers (mainly for the US) are having problems :

When they email any of the email addresses e.g. europe@domain.com their email arrives in the Global Support mailbox but it fails to get "relayed" to the 3rd Party Oracle System support@ref.customer.com

The sender receives a bounce of :

Code:
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

      Subject:	Test
      Sent:	1/3/2007 8:34 AM

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

      support@ref.customer.com on 1/3/2007 8:41 AM
Could not deliver the message in the time limit specified. Please retry or contact your administrator.
            < MAIL-RELAY5.ourcompany.com #4.4.7>

I have attemped to do an MX lookup on the 3rd party domain but I get no records ??? but yet the system works fine for most of our users ???

Can anyone shed some light on what may be wrong?

Regards,

Billybonga
