Ran into something I thought might be of interest to others.

Running a FBII with ver 7 and hotfix I. The incoming SMTP Proxy began acting up today for some reason, and was rejecting emails left and right. After checking the Watchguard website and googling it, I unchecked the "Allow BDAT/CHUNKING" option in the SMTP Proxy setup. After a reboot, problem solved.

Basically, the error in the System Manager would be "10 bad commands, killing link".

Don't know why, but it worked. The Watchguard forum had people experiencing the problem, but no solution.

I'm Certifiable, not certified.
It just means my answers are from experience, not a book.

I've run into this as well. From what I've been able to put together, it happens most when dealing with MS2000 server which implements ESMTP differently from WG's implementation. When WG gets incoming (I beleive it's 10) MS ESTMP commands it doesn't understand it rejects the email. The "Allow BOAT/CHUNKING" is one great example of this....

You know why standards are so great? There are so MANY of them!
