hi all,

i setup exchange 2000 server. I want to restrict some user only send the internal mail but not external(smtp) mail to outside.

i add smtp connecter and add this restrict user to the "reject list" . However, they can send the mail to outside.

do you know how to do this?

thanks,

if i remove the smtp address, the user cannot send internal mail.

is there any setting in smtp connector?

Really? Been a while since I had a 2000 box (probably 5 years)! Add them in an X400 address instead then.

i found that if we want to disable someone to send smtp mail in connector, we should change parameter in registry.

here:

To enable the registry keys for delivery restrictions (for exchange 2000 / 2003)

1. Start Registry Editor: From a command prompt, type Regedit.exe.

2. Navigate to and select the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/CurrentControlSet/Services/RESvc/Parameters/

3. On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry value:
Value Name: CheckConnectorRestrictions
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Date: 1
Radix: Decimal

4. Exit Registry Editor: On the Registry menu, click Exit.

5. After enabling the registry key setting, you need to restart the following services on your Exchange server:
• Microsoft Exchange MTA Stacks (MSExchangeMTA)
• Microsoft Exchange Routing Engine (RESvc)
• Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTPSVC)
