I need to write a scritp that will SMTP a couple of files to various people. I have it writen using sendmail; however a co-worker said that sendmail is unreliable and to use SMTP. So any suggestions on how I can so that.

Thanks for any info in advance.

Seyton,

With respect to your co-worker I have to disagree:

Sendmail is a robust and reliable way of sending email.

Actually, sendmail uses SMTP to send mail - so if you did that yourself you would just be duplicating what sendmail does now. Mike

If you have a system where sendmail is not available then this link faq219-1563 might be of interest to you. Mike
