Ok, here's the deal.
I have a remote sales person who uses AOL as his ISP.
He can receive e-mails from our domain name but he can not send.
I went thru AOL to try to get an answer, they were less than helpful.
I did find that the smtp server should be set to aol.com with a port number of 587. I tried this but still he is unable to connect or send.
He uses Netscape 7.0 as his browser and e-mail program.
does anyone have any suggestions? I've tried everything, including deleting the account in netscape and starting it all over again.

Um, you can't use your own mail program to send email via AOL (that's why they are proprietary ISP). There is however, a third party mail program that they DO sanction, but I haven't heard it to work with anything later than AOL 8.0
