We are running on a 7.0.2 Domino server as well.

I have a user who sends to a specific domain and receives the following message:

Error transferring to ****.****.***.***; SMTP Protocol Returned a Permanent Error 554 5.7.1 name@domain: Recipient address
rejected: Access denied.

Any suggestions as to what this means? Is it a sender/local issue or is the issue on the receiving end?

Thanks for all your help.

Sounds to me like the domain that the email is being sent from is blocked on the senders end. Are they able to send to other people at the same domain?

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But, rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming ~ WOO HOO what a ride!

Thats the odd thing. It only happens with a single user. The other user in the Domino domain can send to the address without any issues.

Sounds like the far host is blocking the left hand side of the address - first check the Domino person docs to make sure the outgoing addresses are OK. Otherwise it's up to the admin of the receiving system - if it's a sendmail box, it's most likely a typo in the /etc/mail/access.db file.
