We are having trouble sending mail to someones domain. The error message we are getting is "Enhanced Mail System Status Code (RFC1893): .3.0 (Permanent failure - system: no additional status information available)".

There is also a line which gives more information and that says "Error encountered when creating or writing to recipient file". Does anyone know what this means?

Thanks.

Are you getting this message when sending to everyone in that domain or only to one address?

Normally this would mean that the user exists on the remote MTA, but the permissions on the user's mailbox file were incorrect and the mail program cannot write to the file. A permanent error means that resending the email is likely to result in the same error.

You may want to send an email to postmaster@domain.com to find out what the real deal is. They probably don't check their failure log, so they probably don't even know that a problem exists.
