smtp error 2147483643

hi,
I've:
alert v:7.1 compilation 721
ARCServe r11.5 SP4 (Compilation 4490)
Win 2003 Standart

I've configured SMTP service for receive the task notifications with mail, but I don't receive the Alert Mails, in the alert registry I see "Error to send package (-2147483643)". I receive the Test Mail correctly but not the notifications...

what's up? somebody can help me?

Just going off a search at the CA site, here are some things to try.

In the Alert Manager changed the SMTP Server setting to the IP address of the Exchange server instead of the servername.

Checked Exchange settings for Default SMTP connector and found that relay is enabled, but no IP-Address added from where the Email comes. Added the local servers IP-Address in this tab and send an alert successfully.
