How can I check that IPO is sending SMTP email out when I want to troubleshoot why Iam not getting SMTP Alarms in my email? Assume IPO is generating alarms and SMTP and System Events are configured fine and that email credentials are correct.
I would use monitor, filter under the services tab for SMTP and the system tab for error. That should start to give you some indication of what might be happening. Typically what I have seen is that the mail server has not been setup to allow relaying from the IPO IP address, thus rejecting the email.

If I get SMTPServer New Email, followed by SMTPServer woken up and then SMTPServer snoozing being the final output, what should I deduce from this?
It does not tell me if there is a problem with authentication or if it that IPO cant reach the SMTPServer.
It means the IPOffice went looking for the SMTP server and couldn't get a response from it.
Many IT companies cannot set up a email account for the IP Office, regardless of what information you give them.
Use a gmail account with {companyname}avaya@gmail.com as per faq940-7729.
