SMTP connection problems...

I am having some serious problems with my internet clients, some people can connect to the SMTP and some can't. I asked everyone of them to resolve the IP address and its correct so I am guessing its not a DNS Zone Record problem. Any ideas on what the problem might be?

Local setup. Check the hosts and lmhosts files. Check the DNS settings.

Ping the ip address and see if it resolves correctly.
