Hi

I installed a SCO OpenServer 5.0.5 server for a client two or three years ago, and it's been running fetchmail and mmdf happily since then. However, last week, outbound mail bounced, and it turned out that the ISP had changed their SMTP server to have some sort of authentication. I got round the problem by configuring mmdf to use another of their SMTP servers, but I'm worried in case the ISP changes this server at some point in the future. I couldn't see a way in mmdf to use authentication. Or am I missing something obvious?

Thanks in advance

David Nash

Don't know whether or not MMDF can authenticate, but you can change the SCO server to run sendmail. I know it asks which mail system (MMDF or Sendmail) you want to run when you install SCO so running sendmail is definitely possible.
