Hi guys, I got a wierd problem.

I have an exchange 2003 server and have a user that has no problems recieving mail internally or externally (from MANY different mail server)..

however, theres a customer that has her messages bounce whenever she tries to mail him something. And the bounce error is "550 invalid recpient, The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to" The address is indeed spelled correctly.

It just seems odd, her email server seems to be able to find my email server ok...but...it can't find the user? any ideas?

Thanks!

Maybe in incorrect spelling of the email address. Often, people use the "autocomplete" or suggested email address as they start typing the recipients name and the auto suggested addy has a mispelling. Try asking the person who is sending the email to manually type the full email address instead of choosing the one suggested.

I was sure that there was a mispelling of some sort, but when she forwarded me the error message I checked the address (several times) and it was indeed spelled correctly

Hi!
Can she send e-mails successfully to another user in the network?
Does the user have additional e-mail addresses set in his account?

I have a similiar problem. My company has started a new division so I configured Exchange for another domain. I am able to receive emails from outside and can send internal email fine. I have two users configured so that their primary email address is the new domain, but they still have the first domain configured as well. When we originally started this, the request was for an additional mailbox with the new domain that the user could manage from his current mailbox. So I setup a new mailbox with the same name and added a suffix so it wouldn't be exact. We have sinced changed the way this operates and I have deleted the second account for that user. Now when I send the original user a meeting request I get a bounce 5.1.1 the email address does not exist. The user receives the meeting notice and I recieve a bounce. I have tried selecting the user from the GAL and tried removing the user from cache so it wasn't trying to hit an old address. Any ideas??

Thanks,

MJ
