I have installed and configured Symantec Mail Security for SMTP v5.0 with patch 170. I tried testing outbound mail before putting it into production, and the server accepted about 128 messages. The problem is that all the messages are sitting in the delivery queue with the same error:
SMTP command 'DATA' got error '452 4.3.1 out of memory'
In the System log there are numerous event ID 429 entries with detail of:
Virtual server invalid MailQueue directory. The specified mail queue directory is not valid. Cannot start the smtp service.
The SMTP service IS running. Directory permissions are OK, and NAVCE is configured to exclude all the pertinent directories.
I have had no luck finding a solution on either Microsoft's support site or Symantec's. Has anyone had this problem and solved it?
Thanks,
Bob
