Does, anyone have any calculation tools to size a SMS site and rule of thumb to choose either a Primary, secondary, DP, MP, RP etc... site components?
Also based on collected information about IT environment is there any best hierarchy rules.Eg. No# Clients, bandwidth, network rule (throttling), estimate packages, number of hinv/sinv cycles, administration module, business rules etc…

In the SMS Concept, Planning and Deployment guide (Capacity planning) it talks a lot about network, perfom etc... and limited calculation examples. I find this document annoying as it does not explicitly say what should be there at each site at a real case scenario, as it goes… “depends” on the performance monitor + network monitor + etc…., this is ok if you have the SMS2003 environment established.

Any comments or guidance on tools/forums available would be appreciated
