Can someone tell me what this error means. I'm getting alerts on our server monitor:

red Fri Feb 13 09:58:44 EST 2004 [elephldc1.philadelphia.elemica.com]

Sys: E 'Fri Feb 13 09:52:18 2004': Service Control Manager - " The SMS CCM Client Bootstrap service failed to start due to the following error: %%1069 "
Sys: E 'Fri Feb 13 09:52:18 2004': Service Control Manager - " Logon attempt with current password failed with the following error: %%1385 "

When I look up 1069 I find that it means:

SMS Site Component Manager is deinstalling all of the SMS server components from site system %1.

Can someone tell me what this all means?

Thanks,

Any input is appreciated.

jeff

Are you installing SMS on a domain controller (Computer %1)? This could have something to do with replication. If you have a large NT 4.0 domain that causes replication to happen slowly, you may run into an issue like this on a DC.

To fix the problem, you can reinstall and then initiate domain replication shortly afterwards.

Where exactly do you see these errors...which log?

The message is coming up on our DC. Originally about a year ago when I installed SMS on our network, SMS got installed on the DC and it is acting as a logon point for the network. But that's it. Nothing has changed for the past year configuration wise. I haven't installed anything on the DC recently. Our Big Brother Monitor is producing the messages. Our network isn't that large but's international. So sometime replication delay can occur between all the DC's.
