Hi @all,

I'm trying to get the AppID and ProductID, saved in the windows registry.
With the predefined sms reports I was able to get software-product information like e.g. ProductLanguage, ProductName, FileName and ProductVersion, but the only ProductID I found was the internal SMS ProductID.
Are there any tables where I can find the IDs I'm searching for?
They look like "50760-008-6400495-02991", or just describe the program name.
I thought perhaps it is saved as "ProdID" in table V_GS_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS, but until now I was not able to get any values out of it.
Even if I select everything from this table, there are no "matching" results.
When does the smserver fill this table? (probably any special scanoptions?)
You see, I'm still noob on this thing and in a state of absolut confusion :)
I'd be very grateful for every hint or advice,
many thx, greetz

Hi!

Add a Query and there you choose "Add/Remove Programs" and there you have the ProductID etc.

Hope it works for you!

Best regards,
Gerhard

thx for your fast reply,

but my problem is, that the table V_GS_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS
seems to be empty.
If I start a query to select any value from ADD/Remove Programs, there are no results.
Even if I select * from Add/Remove Progs.

From most of the other tables/views, I'm able to select the values I need.

Sorry if the description was a bit confusing,
hope that will help.

Hi!

And Hard- and SoftwareInventory has already been collected?

cu
Gerhard

Software inventory has definitely been collected,
cause I can get information about ProductLanguage, ProductName, FileName etc...

Hardware inventory was not collected until now,
cause I thought information like AppID and ProductID has not really something to do with "hardware" :)

I'll try and tell you,

thx

Oh - so thats the problem!

You'll have to collect the hardware inventory - there the data are!

If you make a right click on a pc in a collection and then choos "resource explorer" you'll see in "Hardware" (!) the Add/Remove Programs section - and there the relevant data can be found! :)

cu

Alright, thank you very much for this...

so all I got to do is collect the hardware inventory data.

I still don't understand what add/remove PROGRAMS! got to do with Hardware, but who cares as long as I get the necessary data :)

I already tried to start a hardware inventory some time ago, but no information was found on the clients.
(there was no data available within the resource explorer for "hardware" - seemed like there happend no hardware inventory at all)
Do I have to configure anything special, or is all I got to do, turn on the Hardwareinventory-Client in the client-settings and define a date/time to perform the scan?

Whatever - now I know where to search - the rest should be a matter of time.

best regards,
ld

yes - you'll have to enable tha hardware inventory client agent. :)

Now I got it, thank you very much.
All necessary information are available now
(after having performed a hardware inventory).

thx
greetz, cYa
