Hi folks. I'm trying to run a query in SMS for something and I don't know how to phrase the query. I'm fairly new to SMS queries, but I know the basics at least. I've recently had several issues with Time Stamp Counter (TSC) drift, which I fixed with the /usepmtimer in the boot.ini as recommended by HP. What I want to know is, how many of these G2 servers in our data center have the /usepmtimer in the boot.ini. So I have the basics of the query done, sorted by Hostname, Ip, server model (this problem only pops up on HP servers in the DL385 G2, DL585 G2 models) and then the criteria setup. The one thing I don't know is how to define the criteria for whats in the boot.ini. The other way of looking at it is how does the processor interpret time syncronization IE does it use TSC or does it use the ACPI Power Mangement Timer which would then tell me if the /usepmtimer was in the boot.ini or not.
I know this is an obscure question, if anyone can help I'd sure appreciate it. If I find some solution I'll post it here as well.
