SMS Query for RPC Patch 1

Anyone know what to look for when creating a query in SMS for rpc patches (NT4) ??
 
You can use the RPCpatch scan tool provided by MS to find the 823980 and 824146 patch. However, you can also use hfnetcheck to produce a MIF file which would populate the DB.
 
Take a look at the Security bulletin and the subsequent Q-article, where it shows the files that are being replaced. You can query on any of those files. If you don't want to turn on inventory for DLL files, you can use Extended Software Inventory to inventory single files:


But, still, the patches should be placing their installation information into Add/Remove programs (even on NT). You can set up your SMS_DEF.MOF to inventory the Add/Remove information from the registry. See the MOF Editing Guide:
