I'm starting to dabble a bit in SMS and I'm looking to start creating packages for installation. I want to be able to push hotfixes and possibly even SP's using SMS. As far as I know I need an answer file to get these programs to run silently, I can't just type /S. Does anyone know of a good site that will walk me through setting up an answer file for a SP installation? Thanks.

We usually use /silent /norestart to deploy our patches or service packs because we don't want to reboot their machine automatically. SMS SUS is a good tool to use which will notify the user that they need to reboot. If they don't reboot by a certain date then it will reboot automatically. If you drag the hotfix or SP to the run command and type /?, it will display most of the available command line switches. You only need answer files for software installs and things like that.
