I was never successful in doing this over dial-up. I found a workaround that was pretty affordable by using "GOTOMYPC.COM" for a subscription cost of about $15.00 per month, I can gain access to my desktop machine at work over any internet connection, to include a dial-up connection over a 19.2kb speed .. Once I have accessed my desktop at work with SMS on it, I can go and tounch any computer in my network with client software. I can't tell you how much I have saved in time and driving expenses after hours. Especially since I am in a position that does not get call-in or overtime pay .....
I'm sorry I should have been more clear... I am considering using SMS to dial out to customer's who's server's we maintain, but some connections are TCP/IP and some are dial-up. I was wondering how successfuly SMS handles situations like these.
Again, I apologize for the lack of clarity.
