SMS Hardware Inventory Agent

After installing Hardware Inventory aAgent, the System Management Console shows the agent as Install Pending.

In the log file "Inhinv32.log" I see the message "ERROR: Could not register hinv32 as a pseudo-service. Set Installation State to Installing."

I also get a message in the &quot;SMSCLREG.LOG&quot; file &quot;======= Logging initialized for module &quot;SMSCLREG&quot; ======= $$<SMSCLREG><Mon Nov 10 10:33:24.375 2003><thread=830 (0x33E)> AppRegisterI returned error 87 for component Hardware Inventory Agent $$<SMSCLREG><Mon Nov 10 10:33:24.375 2003><thread=830 (0x33E)>&quot;.

Is this suppose to give me a clue as to why it is not working?
