I have done a search and with the exception of (who I think have gone bust looking at the site) I cannot find any other suggested libraries.

I have looked into coding the library myself but tbh it'll probably cost me more (time v money) to do so.

I am looking to support both POTS and GSM modems for outgoing messages only. I have looked at activexperts' and derdack's offerings so far but they provide more functionality than I need.

I was wondering whether anyone on here has any feedback (good and bad) from libraries they have used ?

Do a search here for SMS, plenty to be found, you might start with thread222-301698

Hope this helps,

Patrick

sorry, I guess my initial post a little vague. I meant I have searched through the posts on here.

There are several posts that suggest using a component from desoft.co.uk, other than that the general advice is to program it yourself.

Well if I had the time to write my own TAPI layer and research every possible carrier in the known world I would write it myself (and save some money). Unfortunatley I don't have anywhere near the time to develop it from ground up and so I am looking for advice/suggestions/feedback from people who have used a 3rd party component.

Hi Nimroduk

It may not be exactly what you are looking for but we use two providers - & - for sending messages to the field staff. OK you have to buy message credits but they are relatvely cheap and both provide COM objects so it is dead easy to code your application and messages can be sent from any workstation with an internet connection. You don't have to concern yourself wih message centres or carriers and they cover most countries and networks.
