SMS error 5436. Is Sharepoint the Problem ?

Hi, i am having lots of trouble getting my management point to work, i am getting the 5436 error in the SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER. Having downloaded the toolkit 2 and used the mp troubleshooter it fails and tells me to verify my default website is running (offers the solution of Cannot create ActiveX component ?) and Verify BITS are enabled (offers the solution of Cannot create ActiveX component AGAIN !). Both of these are true. I have also been down the list of check points like DTS, Task Scheduler, WMI, etc services are running and they are. Those 2 web pages you can load up (a blank one and one with numbers) both work fine. the MP machine account has been added to the SiteSystemToSQLConnection group. SQL service account is running under system so SPN should auto create when the service starts.

BASICALLY I HAVE CHECKED EVERYTHING FOR AGES AND IT STILL DOESN'T WORK !!!!

Sharepoint is running on this machine aswell, could that affect it and is that why the MP Troubleshooter is saying to check my default Web site is running ?

Any ideas and your a better man than me !!!
