SMS 3.0 Site does not see installed client

I am working with SMS 3.0 beta, have installed the client and looking under the *.cpi file see that the client is installed correctly and has the correct SMS site in it. If I try to auto discover the site, it is unsuccessful. The SMS site will discover all the computers on my network, but does not see the client that I do have installed.

Any ideas?

are you sure that you don't mean sms 2003 beta (also known as sms 2.5 or topaz) ?
and if you should mean sms 2003 then why don't you post your question in the appropiate microsoft beta-forum (

Yes I mean SMS 2003 beta or SMS 2.5/topaz. And I didn't post it there because I don't have guest id. I figured someone in here would be running the software and have a clue as to what might be the cause of the problem.. Thanks for straighting out the issue of which version I am running.

Well, we are not a part beta program and we are demoing it through our MSDN/Technet subscription. So any ideas would be greatly apperciated.

Have you installed a ManagementPoint in your SMS evironment ? I think you need this.....

Yes, under site systems, I have a check mark to use everything in there and use the local db which is SQL 2000.
