Hi, I have SMS 2003 installed with Advanced client.

My problem is if I go to the SMS console then start Resource Explorer on one of the collection, there is nothing under its Hardware. I have already enabled the Hardware Inventory client agent.

If I go to this PC's Control Panel then System Management applet then Actions tab, I don't see the Hardware Inventory agent (and so, I cannot "initiate action").

However, I tried putting the Standard client on one of the PCs & the Hardware Inventory agent is there in its Systems management applet under Components tab (thus I will be able to "Start" the component).

Please help. Thanks.

If you haven't done this already, from the Control Panel of the client start Systems Management, click Actions tab, click Machine Policy Retrieval & Evaluation Cycle, then click Initiate Action.

Hi Mich,

I wasn't able to do your suggestion as I eventually reinstalled the OS & SMS. Afterwhich everything is working fine.

Thanks.
