SMS 2.0 Registry Errors on Client Machines.

We just installed SMS 2.0 on our network and several workstations are experiencing registry errors and ask to restore the registry. We checked technet and the problem was with the Software Metering. We removed it from SMS and still are having problems especially with completely new workstations setup. Our workstations have a minumum of 32 meg of RAM. Has anyone else experienced this problem? <br>

We have this problem as well. We have noticed for our installation that the registry error happens usually upon start-up, and, during a automated back up by a program we use called ADSM. The error usually happens as ADSM is backing up the registry files on our SMS clients. Is it possible that you have a like situation?<br>

Sounds as if something is keeping the registry open when the SMS client is verifying its registry keys. Try these things to pinpoint:<br>
<br>
1. Remove items from the Run keys<br>
2. Remove items from the Startup Folder<br>
3. Skip the network login script
