SMS 2.0 discover's clients but can't install components

Hi, we had SMS 1.2 previously installed in our server, now after upgrading to 2.0, things to be working good, but not for some clients, It seems that my SMS Server is not able to install the client components.

Any Idea on installing the client components manually?

We use NT Server 4.0, NT WS 4.0 Clients

If the basic SMS files are installed on the client, there should be a WINNT\MS\SMS directory.
If you have, run c:\WINNT\MS\SMS\CORE\BIN\000...\SMSMAN.EXE.
Then check the option to Automatically select installation location, it will find a site server, and install the remaining SMS components, and add itself to the site.

thanks for the reply,

strange some of the users i checked that they are seen and discovered by the sms server but the client component are not installed.

they both have the same network config. exact. but some are install and some are not, I also noticed that although I upgraded the sms1.2 to 2.0 but some client still with the old client component and not getting upgraded.

I would remove the SMS from the clients which have the old version, and then run smsls.bat (should run through logon script). This will cause SMS to reinstall itself, and it should then be the correct version. To remove an SMS client, run c:\winnt\ms\sms\core\bin\000...\smsman.exe, and check the removal button
Best to check it out with one first. You may have to reboot the client PC after logging on and running the smsls.bat before everything works.
