smpt service on 2003

HOpe this is the right forum. I have installed server 2003 and added smtp through add remove programs.

For some reason I can not telnet to it, even on the server itself. I created a test file and put in the pick up folder, this sent an email to my yahoo account which is great.... but I would like the smtp to work.

All i get is connecting to test... Could not open connection to the host, on port 25: connection failed.

I have left all the settings on the smtp as they were when they were installed... so I do not understand why I am unable to connect on port 25. Any ideas would be appreciated

Not to worry ... I did not think of looking at the antivirus program..... It was stopping port 25.
