I have a virtual dedicated server on godaddy with 17 domains.
On wednesday about 10pm I received an email saying I reached the 1000 limit to send mails. But that on 12pm (2 hours later) it will reset the counter.
Since then I'm unable to send emails, now all the clients outside my server (webmail is working OK) are displaying an error that they cannot connect with the server.

Tried a lot of things.
->Recreated the queue
->checked the line file /var/qmail/control/smtproutes to have the line ":k2smtpout.secureserver.net"
->followed the steps by But nothing seems to work, a client already moved its domain with another host.

Furthermore, if I try to connect using FTP it says: "connected to myserver.com" and inmediatly it says "connection closed by host"

please help!!

My firm can offer consulting, but I wouldn't be able to speculate as to what's going on without checking your configuration.

Have you spoken to GoDaddy about whether they have any artificial anti-spam controls that would affect your traffic flow?

My email is available from the site in the sig below.

Dave.

I contacted godaddy many times now, they say is a software/configuration problem, and they cannot do anything.
We cant afford to pay an external service, but if you can help me, I can post any conf file needed.
Regards
Dirk

The first file does not exist.

the second command:
dirkros 15376 0.0 0.0 1408 448 pts/0 S 14:25 0:00 grep readproctitle

#tail /usr/local/psa/var/log/maillog

is empty...

OK,
This is the problem. Your system is configured in a non-standard fashion. If I cannot see the system at this point, I'd only be asking questions you may not be able to answer.

I want to help, but you need to understand that this could be a very lengthy conversation.

Q: What are the last 100 lines of the qmail smtpd log? Can you find them?

Q: Can you find any errors anywhere that would tip me off on the issue?

Q: Can you please sanitize and paste the "On wednesday about 10pm I received an email saying I reached the 1000 limit to send mails" email???? I'd like to see what's notifying you of what.

I received on tuesday (sorry thought was wednesday) this email.

YOU HAVE REACHED YOUR DAILY SMTP RELAY LIMIT
************************************************************

Dear DIRK ROSQUILLAS TOVILLA,

You have reached your current SMTP relay limit of 1000 per day on the following hosting account:

dirkrosquillas

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your hosting server will be unable to send email until the daily SMTP relay limit is reset. The daily SMTP relay limit is reset on all accounts at midnight MST.
If I connect to webmail.mysite.com everything looks ok, but the emails lasts hours to reach its destination.
And If I try to send the emails using a client like thunderbird or outlook, the client is unable to connect, the message is "Outlook cannot connect with the outgoing server (SMTP)" (translated)
other symptom, the qmail service wont stop..
[root@jf log]# /etc/init.d/qmail status
qmail is running
[root@jf log]# /etc/init.d/qmail stop
[root@jf log]# /etc/init.d/qmail status
qmail is running
[root@jf log]# /etc/init.d/qmail start
Starting qmail: [ OK ]
[root@jf log]# /etc/init.d/qmail status
qmail is running
[root@jf log]# /etc/init.d/qmail restart
Starting qmail: [ OK ]
[root@jf log]# /etc/init.d/qmail status
qmail is running
[root@jf log]# /etc/init.d/qmail stop
[root@jf log]# /etc/init.d/qmail status [ OK ]
qmail is running
[root@jf log]#
Furthermore, the recpetion of the emails is also very slow, I sent myself an email two hours ago from gmail to my account on godaddy and I'm receiving it just now..
