I have a HP netserve with dual PII 400, smp is installed (i think) properly, but Mpdriver is not loaded and when i try to load, it is missing. Now how can i load this nlm? where do i find this file and how do i install??

Cheers!!

Your not going to like this but we were told by novell
to remove multi processing off all of our dual processor
servers. I cannot remember why. Netware 5.1 will not use
the second processor anyway. The only product that will is
oracle for netware.

5.1 does use the second processor, not all the os uses it but you can get performance benefits.

Groupwise agents, ds8.5 and 8.6 all get a big benefit from multi processors.

As for the problem you need to check with dell that the mp driver is supported on their kit. They may have one of there own. Lee Smith

I have an HP Netserver E-60 with 1 600mhz P3 installed and the Netware 5.0 setup routine added this line to Startup.ncf, LOAD MPS14.PSM and copied the same file to C:\NWSERVER. This is listed by Novell as the SMP support driver. If this was not installed at setup time you also have the option to install it from NWCONFIG. As I don't have have the second processor I just commented the line out so the driver won't load. I also have seen this happen on a Toshiba Magnia Dual processor server even though it only had 1 P2 400mhz installed.
