Smoothwall gpl 1.0 - Opening ports

Eh, newbie to Smoothwall here.

I have been told that I need to open TCP port 10000 and UDP port 500 on my firewall.

How do I open a port on smoothwall?
Its driving me nuts. I have tried port forwarding and external service access but its still not working.
