I need to set up password protection of a file for a friend.

The file is on their website and access to the file HAS to be based on a wether the user exists in Smit or not. This was just dropped in my lap a few minutes ago but the guy needs to be done by tomorrow, this is above my head so if anyone has any idea what i should do, please post.

I'm thinking a perl script would do it but i can't find any perl programmers who know how to access the user information from smit.

I'm stuck.

Why does it have to use SMIT?? The user information comes from easy to read files.

I should have realized that much earlier.
