SMIT Terminal Emulation

I'm using a 3151 terminal on a 7013 on AIX 4.2 in maintenance mode.

When not in maintanence mode, the terminal emulation works fine. When in maintanence mode, SMIT no longer works correctly, I cannot use my arrows to select anything.

I've changed me TERM a hundred times using all different emulaitons. The terminal s working correctly. Is there something I need to do when bringing up SMIT to tell it to use 3151? Somehting that happens during normal boots that isn't happening now?

you can insert
eval `/usr/bin/tset -Qs \?$TERM`
in the end of root's profile and voila -it asks you for terminal instead of shown default one

check out smitty tty - what terminal emulation and serial parameters are used there, read 3151 book etc (i have a truckload of newer 3153 - so no help with 3151)

or use your old Pentium100/16 laptop (Or brand new WinCE handheld) to get vt100 which works fine (like hyperterm at 9600 8N1 Hardware)
