Hi,

when I'm trying to uninstall IBM WebSphere MQ 5.3 using SMIT, I get the following error message:

Verifying selections...done
Verifying requisites...0503-214 installp: A lexical error occurred for BCGCommon600 6.0.0.0
on line 1, column 11.
There is an illegal number: 35f.
Use local problem reporting procedures.

What does this mean ?
How can this problem be fixed ?

Any help is much appreciated !

Regards,
Ruediger

This error shows up when your ODM is hosed up (usually caused by a software uninstaller not cleaning up properly, Websphere products have been the culprits in the past). Call IBM and get their procedure for cleaning up the ODM. You are in trouble installing and removing software until this is fixed.
