On my MICS 6.1, I've got two SMDR6 units. I've setup a "master" to record Norstar All format and a "slave" to record "SL-1 CLID" format. I did it this way so that I would have a backup if one of the units or the computer it is dumping to failed. Well, I've needed the backup feature.

Every couple of weeks the master is reverting to default--the speed drops to 1200 and the format reverts to "SL-1". This is the third time it has defaulted.

Any clues about what is going on?

sounds like a bad smdr

Thanks Pat. I was wondering that myself...

Do you know if I swapped units, would the problem follow the bad unit? Or is one bad unit causing the other to fail?

try it and try to seperate on switch"1 on ksu 1 on station module
