I am going to be hooking up an smdr6 to a customers PC com port 1. They will access it using hyper terminal. Is there a way to store the data it spits out into a folder?
Also can i plug the the smdr6 into the jack for the phone by the computer and use it with the phone, or does it need it's own dn?
I have not had the opportunity to play with it so any info would be appreciated.
Thanks
Gabriel

You don't need an extra port for the SMDR. It can use any port, then plug a phone into the SMDR. No extra DN needed.
That is a nice feature.
There are many ways to get the data to a file, or folder. You can do a "select all" then copy to a file. I use Procomm Plus and capture directly to a file for my data.

Lets hear some more methods from the crowd.

If you are using hyper term, while you are seeing calls come across the screen, click on the capture text box and hper term will ask you where you want these calls stored. You can then view the data at a later time! Good luck.
