When an access code is used for paging is a smdr record generated the same as a call? For example: *9

I have a location where someone if trying to be funny by accessing the paging system (dialing *number) at midnight. I'm trying to find out who did it. It doesn't look like a smdr record is generated (from the call accounting software perspective at least)when I tested. Regular calls I can see the data going into the software but not when a special access code is used as in this case.

Suggestions on what it would take to generate a smdr record if it isn't being done already? Once I get the record I think I can get the call accounting software to generate an alarm.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge

SMDR output is a function of trunk route data. Check ARTD in the paging route for CDN 10 and make sure it is set to a 1 to allow SMDR output for outgoing calls.

Thanks for the reply belevedere
CDN 10 is showing a 1 for the route (which is 8).
Would smdr 2 (CDN16) and smdr 3 (CDN 56) also need to be set to 1?.
Is there anyway to see the smdr record on the NEC side?
Thanks,

CDN 16 is for incoming call records and CDN 56 is for tandem connections. You can see raw data call records with hyperterm set up on the SMDR output port. Usually it is set up a 9600 N 8 2. Your SMDR software may need to be set up to track a single digit dialed in their set up. Some programs only track 7, 10 or 11 digit dialed numbers.

Any suggestions on where I can find the SMDR record layout?
I've tried capturing a paging call via hyperterminal but don't see any records that look like my test call.
Thanks,

I saw the System Operations Manual for ICS/IMX/IPX/SV8500 describing the SMDR very nicely.
