Hi,

We are looking to migrate to a BCM system from our tried and true Nortel MICS. Our accounting/CRM software integrates with the Nortel SMDR to do customer record pop ups on each agents PC. The SMDR is physically connected to a dedicated PC that receives the data stream and then servers it to each of the agents. We are using the a keyspan adapter to go from the serial port to USB connection on to the dedicated PC. I have been told that the SMDR function is built into the BCM series but I need to know if the physical connection is the same and if the data stream format is also the same as the SMDR on the Nortel MICS. I have contact several Nortel dealers in hopes of finding the answer but to no avail.

Thanking you in advance for your help !!

if u require screen pop ups, I believe u'll need cti s/w and the LAN CTE keycode to integrate it w/ the BCM and its users.

The BCM SMDR is pulled or pushed via the ethernet connection. There is a software application included with the BCM called CDR Pull Client, that can be used for realtime pulling of the CDR data. The CDR report parameters are the same as on the Norstar SMDR, so you should be able to set it the same as you currently have it. I would also recommend contacting the your vendor for the accounting/CRM software to see if they have any special requirements for connecting to a BCM.
