Hi Everyone,

I am losing call records big time and it is looking bad. For the past week the SMDR is not starting although the CAAB TSI service is shown to have started. Although i have tried restarting the TSI service and the SMDR service via the TSI Manager and SMDR Manager there seems to be no effect. I have enlisted the help of my IT colleague but we are not making any head way.

What commands can I use to check the SMDR settings via Matworx and possibly get it going again? We use IPS 2000 and I do have the command manual.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

g!le.

First thing I would do is check the records are being output from the PABX, you need to use hyperterminal on the machine your logging software is loaded on and see if you can see any output, then if possible disconnect from that machine and try it with a laptop (which has a serial port). If you can't get any output, your AP00 card may be damaged. There are four ports on the card so you can try programming up one of the others to see if it will work but you may find you have to replace it!

Need to know what card you're using for SMDR - Off of the MP card or AP00? Programming differs based on what card is sending out the SMDR info.

Follow Ozzie's suggestion to verify that you are getting an output from the PBX. Determine if it is from the CPU or from an AP-00 card. Look up CMD D102 in the manual to clear the SMDR data. Sometimes that will restart the data, but you will lose all of the stored records. If that fails you could try CMD D101 to re-initialize the card, but that could present other issues. If you are using the AP card for MCI records for VM then you will lose that data and have to reprogram up the ports and settings. That is best left for someone with experience.
Also, the AP cards are different (AP-00-B/AP-00-D. The ones with MRCA options use CMD D98/D99. Check the white label on the card.

I would never use the MP for SMDR output due to the vulnerability of the SMDR equipment. Blow an Ap00 and it is easy to replace, blow a main processor and you have real problems!

Agreed, but budget conscious customer's don't always follow suggestions. I prefer to keep the IO ports on the CPU for modem and MAT.
