Hello forum.
I have to set up accounting for our phone system.
For this first thing that I should get is the Usage-by-Extension reports.
To get this information out of the system as I understood I will have to connect PC with SMDR block by serial cable.

Can you tell me what is this SMDR port in the system. How does it look like.
I found two serial ports "A" and "B" on the bottow of VoiceMail unit. Can I use those or I have to buy and install additional card?

Thanks for help,
Yuri Gelman

The SMDR box is a separate unit that connects to a station port on the KSU, then to your PC via the serial cable.

You have to buy an interface box called SMDR 6 ,and that will connect to any digtal station on your switch ,then you can hook up the serial printer or to the com port in your PC.

Good Luck.

Sorry DUeE ,I did mean to repeat the inf,you was so quick for me.

notta problem!!! besides,I left off the "6"!! DueE

so let me get it right- it looks like a FastRAD box.
Can I connect it to the phone (does it have to jacks).

If I run 4.1 software what should I buy - SMDR6 or SMDR4?

Thanks for your help,
Yuri;

Yes it looks like the Fast rad but it has two jacks one from your extension and the other one to connect a telephone, and also a RS 232 port to connect to the serial printer or PC.You should use SMDR6.

Good Luck.

Thank you guys.
You're the best.

Yuri.
