I have a 3300 MXEIII connected to Choice Hotel brand PMS. The SMDR is sent to them at 1200 8N1, which we always use through the Precidia Ipocket. In viewing calls through hyperterminal, all info looks ok. Their software is receiving strange looking data. the call info looks vertical instead of horizontal. The Choice Hotel support people are claiming the Mitel is sending the calls in the wrong "format". I there a different "format" that Choice Hotel uses??
Any suggestions??

Thanks

What do you receive if connected to the iPocket Directly with a terminal emulator (I Use PuTTy)

If the PMS system is not directly connected to the iPocket, what do you see at the connection point? Is it different from above?

My 2 Bits:
- Advise your customer that the time is billable if you isolate the issue to the PMS vendor
- Track your time accurately and be prepared to write a novel
- Advise your Customer that you cannot bill the PMS vendor directly and that they will have to perform that negotiation directly
- I usually request a PO# for 4 hrs labour to make it official
- Document any delays created by waiting on hold or waiting for callbacks from the PMS vendor.

kwbMitel....Thanks for that.Exactly my thoughts. It seems an ongoing issue with any PMS vendor. The poor hotel is always stuck in the middle.
The 3 ipockets are connected to the vendors computer via a usb to serial hub. When they use their hyperterminal program within that computer, they see exactly what I see when I remove their connection and plug in my laptop and use either hyperterminal or procomm.

What I understand from your last.

The PMS vendor is capable of see the data correctly by eliminating either their program or eliminating the USB Data Hub.

I would not touch that without a PO#. 100% Billable time. You can work with them to see what their problem is but somebody needs to pay you for that.

Had a case like this within the past year. Fought with Hilton OnQ for a month. Turned out to be the brand new Precidia. I think I've seen 3 bad in the 10 years I've been working with them.

Thanks for your input OldTimingMan. I had just left the customer again and read your post. I returned to the customer and replaced the precidia on speculation. The customer was to contact Choice Hotels to test again. Waiting to hear back
