I am trying to access the SMDR and ACD ports on our 3300 LX ICP (v7.1) via telnet and am prompted for a password. I don't remember having to use a password in the past but have not needed to access the ports in this way since the original install. I have tried the logins and passwords for authorized users defined within the 3300 however they do not work. Is there a default login and password to access the ports via telnet?

Thank you in advance for your help.

sounds to me like you are not activating the telnet connection correctly.

Command prompt:> telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx port

The command that I am using is:
Microsoft Telnet Prompt> open xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx [1752]

The results:

I have since found out that you cannot access the SMDR or ACD ports using Telnet. You have to use a VT100 emulator.

So, I'll be looking for an emulator that works with Vista, if anyone has any ideas, let me know.

I used that format and I get a blank window instead of the expected SMDR data stream.

Is it safe to assume that SMDR is enabled in COS (both for the trunks as well as the exts) and that your SMDR options are set correctly in the SMDR Options Assignment form?

What about your ACD data stream on port 15373 (I think that's it) - do you see anything there by telnetting to it using the same format?

Note that both ports are a raw unbuffered dump. However even with no active calls you should see a steady spew of data coming from the ACD port, ie something that looks like this: 14R0515482008032615R05154920080326 etc., etc.

Got it...thank you.

Yes MitelInMyBlood...your assumption is safe. This is 24/7 call center that has been on the system for a couple of years. I just hit one of those rare quite moments when I got the blank window. There wasn't any call traffic at the time. I've got streams from both the SMDR and ACD ports.

Thank you for your help, it is very much appreciated.
