I set up my wireless connection to work fine but I can't reliably print to my HP OfficeJet R80xi which I was able to fine on Windows ME. I installed the NT driver from SMC on XP without much difference. The XP printer set-up is different than ME and SMC doesn't seem to have any answers. Any thoughts?

The following helped somwhat. Perhaps there is a minor adjustment to make it all work out. Printing is either incomplete or I get page after page of a few characters of jibberish.

The printer port on the SMC Barricade can be addressed directly by Windows XP (and Windows 2000) without any additional software.

Here are the steps you would take to set that up.

1. Start the Add Printer Wizard
2. For the printer type, select a Local Printer, and clear the
Automatically detect... checkbox
3. For the printer port, select Create a new port, Standard TCP/IP
Port
4. In the Add Standard TCP/IP Port Wizard, enter the IP address for
the SMC Barricade (the Port Name does not matter)
5. When asked for the Device Type, select Custom, then click
Settings...
6. Change the Protocol from Raw to LPR, and enter "lp" (without the
quotes) as the Queue Name
7. Click OK to close that wizard, then Next and Finish to close the
port wizard.
8. Select the printer make and model as normal
