I've got a working wireless network using SMC equipment. I'm trying to extend the range using an SMC2655W. I'm sorry to say SMC tech support isn't much help. They aren't even sure if I need a cross-over cable or straight through. I think I need a cross-over. My software for the AP won't find it. Anybody else had this problem? Thanks.

1. Likely you need a straight-thru cable to connect to a regular (not uplink) port on the existing router.

2. The best way to configure it is with a straight-thru cable connected directly to the ethernet port on your PC.
