SMC cannot be loaded with Assertion failed error

I'm new to Solaris. I just set up the Solaris 9 on the SUN E250 server. When I tried to load SMC console, it's always failed with the following error.

Assertion failed: offset < fFileSize, file ../../../src/share/native/sun/awt/font/fontmanager/fontobjects/fontObject.cpp, line 410 /usr/sadm/lib/smc/bin/smc[24]: 3594 Abort(coredump)

I tried to check the status of the console server by
/etc/init.d/init.wbem status
It returned &quot;SMC server version 2.1.0 running on port 898&quot;
I also tried to restart it with no luck.
