We just starting using a network monitor on network. I ran a capture report on all broadcast traffic and in five minutes, there was over 3000 broadcast packets on the network which i know is slowing stuff down. I looked at the packets and 90% of them are called "SMBMSP MailSlots"
I know they have to do with the browser service but is there supposed to be that many broadcast packets going around the network. The other 10% were browser announcements which were coming from some of our win2k computers. The way i understand it is that only servers should be sending browser announcement packets out. I don't really know that much about this but any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
